The unexpected bike trail part 2 - Bali

Day 2 to put it simple Bike rides, heavy rain & scenic drive for 4 hours. Drenched completely after a cold shivering drive along cliffs, paddy fields, forest & hillocks we reach the besakhi temple on the slopes of Mount agung. We took a lunch break on dhabha like restaurant along a small stream , bought our sarongs from  the temple gates & we were welcomed to one of the best temples in the world.
Insert facts from wiki "Perched nearly 1000 meters up the side of Gunung Agung, it is an extensive complex of 23 separate but related temples with the largest and most important being Pura Penataran Agung. This is built on six levels, terraced up the slope. This entrance is an imposing Candi Bentar (split gateway), and beyond it the even more impressive Kori Agung is the gateway to the second courtyard."

It was some auspicious day & so people had gathered offering prayers in almost every corner of the temple. It would have taken us atleast  3 ~ 4hours to go through the entire complex, thanks to our driving skills as a group & rain we had to make sure we head back before dark to make sure we dont reach other end of the island. The temple has got some of the best view of the valley while we enjoyed a couple of my friends got married (guys) & so we left on a good note & retuned our bikes slightly past our time.

Dinner at a local restaurant next to the bike rental, along the beach. Please donot miss the local toddy when u head to bali , we had the "Arak attack" with some balinese dance performance. After dinner the house band entertained us with some good old bollywood songs. we close the bill bought some beers & walked back to the resort (roughly a km away) along the cliff on a starry night.

Next morning was the last day of the trip, we start with a lazy dip in the pool & lunch, all the way back to the airport with stopover for some souvenir shopping & at some random beaches along the way which we missed the last time. We reached Kuta beach for the sunset (party hub & extremely crowded). As the sun went down i got myself a temporary tatoo "Om" on my neck & sat staring at sun at the end of my holiday wondering where has life brought me  or to put it simple words where on earth is my beer :). Dinner back in the same restaurant where we started.

P.S - bali "International" airport is closed after 12am & reopens only at 6am, forget spending the night in airport & also do remember all tickets to bali are not charged with the airport fee which is collected at the airport, better not to spend all the cash u have got.
